Michelle Kelm

Executive Director

Michelle Kelm was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, and graduated from W.B. Ray High School. Much of her childhood was spent working on cars in her father’s garage since he was known as the local mechanic. Michelle was introduced to the senior living industry in 2011, and with her hard work ethic, can-do attitude and passion for the senior community, she quickly climbed into the executive director role. In 2013, Michelle received certifications to be a medication technician, an activities director and a licensed kitchen manager. She also became a licensed administrator with the state of Texas in 2015. With experience working in every department in senior care, Michelle is able to provide support to all departments in the community. In her spare time, she enjoys hunting, fishing and watching UFC with her husband and son. It is also not uncommon to catch Michelle singing throughout the community.

Shawn Martinez

Director of Sales and Marketing

A Corpus Christi native, Shawn Martinez recently relocated to Corpus Christi after many years of living in Seattle. She has held a variety of sales roles over the last 15 years in full-service, select-service and boutique hotels. Shawn specializes in group catering, corporate sales and public relations and has constantly exceeded the goals set before her.

Her bright and bubbly personality can be felt across a room, which is no surprise given her training with Walt Disney World while studying at Del Mar College. She has been recognized and awarded for not only her sales skills, but her passion for customer service, as well.

When she is not providing her guests with a world-class experience, you can find her paddle-boarding or birdwatching.

Addison Kraus

Business Office Director

Addison Kraus is one of the newest members of the Solstice Senior Living at Corpus Christi team. She received her bachelor’s degree in health care administration from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi in 2017 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public administration. Addison has a background in both health care and housing. Over the years, she has held various positions, such as financial counselor, resident services manager and business office manager.

Addison is passionate about helping others and loves working with a team to provide the most excellent experience possible for the residents. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, going to the beach, attending Texas Country concerts, going to local sporting events and visiting farmers’ markets.

John Bryan

Culinary Services Director

After graduating from W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, Texas, John Bryan entered the restaurant industry at the age of 18. He was quickly promoted to be a district manager, which gave him the opportunity to travel all over the United States. One of his most memorable travel destinations was Nashville, Tenn., where he cooked for legendary musicians such as George Jones, Tim McGraw, Billy Ray Cyrus and the Judd family. With over 25 years of experience, John has won over the hearts – and stomachs – of the Solstice at Corpus Christi family.

Grace Garcia-Morales

Vibrant Life Director

Grace Garcia-Morales was born in Alice, Texas, but later moved to Corpus Christi and graduated from Mary Carroll High School. It was evident from a young age that she had a passion for helping others. Grace has over 20 years of experience in senior care and is now certified with the National Association of Activity Professionals. In 2013, she was nominated as one of the top 10 influential people in her hometown of Alice, Texas. Grace, a go-getter, became a certified medication technician in 2010. She has also taken photography classes at Texas A&M–Kingsville and still finds time to volunteer-teach at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. In her spare time, Grace enjoys painting, photography and traveling.

Robert Shelton

Building Services Director

Robert Shelton was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, and graduated from Moody High School, where he proved to be quite an athlete. Robert was a star player in football, basketball and track but really shined with an amazing football record. Not only did he play two positions, he also won All District. He was All Metro and All South Texas, and he held the state record for the longest kickoff return with a touchdown.

Robert spent 15 years in the oil and gas refineries before entering the hospitality industry. He’s worked in and managed culinary services, housekeeping and maintenance. He is a certified boilermaker and brings over 25 years of knowledge to our Solstice at Corpus Christi family. When he’s not hard at work, he enjoys fishing and playing pool with his two kids and two grandkids.

You’ll love calling Solstice at Corpus Christi home.
